I have been following the developments of Bobbi Kristina and the events of her being found in the bathtub of her Atlanta home on January 31. All of the thoughts and feelings about her mother being found in the same state came flooding back to my mind. Like so many others, I am still a die-hard fan of Whitney Houston; the first cassette I every purchased was her 1987 “Whitney” album. As a fan I watched Bobbi Kristina grow from a baby to the young lady that she is today.
With all the speculation of drugs and foul play swirling around, it seems that the main stream media has forgotten the human aspect of it. This is a young lady who lost her mom three short years ago and due to her famous parents, never truly got a chance to grieve. As the public, we had a chance to mourn the loss of Whitney through tributes and film clips. Bobbi Kristina never had that chance; she went from a televised funeral, to a reality television show, to acting on Tyler Perry’s For Better or for Worse . Did anyone close to her see the writing on the wall? Did anyone say to her, “Take some time for you.”? Did anyone tell her it was okay to cry?
I don’t know if this was an attempt to get her money or a cry for help. I don’t know if she will recover or not. What I do know, is that this moment should to be an eye opener for us all. Life is too short. Live every day as if it is your last and cherish every moment like it will never happen again.
