Master Cleanse Review: Day 3

I never noticed how many food commercials come on TV until now. In a one hour period I must have seen twenty to thirty different restaurant ads.

Needless to say Day 3 sucked.

I started my day with V8 juice, then transitioned to homemade blended juices. It does say that you can make light vegetable soup or broth, but that didn’t seem as feeling as my kale, turnip greens, mustard greens, collard greens, tomato, pear, and mango smoothie.

I didn’t feel like myself. I felt lethargic; I barely had the energy to get off the sofa. Later in the day around noon I started having a slight headache that turned into a full blown headache as the day went on.

The fruit and vegetable smoothie where not cutting it.

At 8pm I broke down and had vegetable stir-fry.

After talking to one of my friends that is taking this journey with me, she told me that she too broke down and had a salad. She was lightheaded and dizzy therefore she decided to modify her diet with one meal per day.

I’m still pushing through to Day 4.

Day 4

Master Cleanse Preparation: Orange Juice Only

In The Master Cleanser, author Stanley Burroughs cautions readers to break their fast with a day of consuming only orange juice. Use this same strategy for the last day of the easing in period. Drink several glasses of fresh-squeezed orange juice during the day. If you feel hungry, you can add a tablespoon or two of maple syrup to the juice. Also drink plenty of water. At night, in preparation for starting the lemonade diet, take the laxative tea.

Let me know how you’re doing; what was your Day 3 like? Did you have to modify this diet to work better for your health?
