Today I turned 38

happy birthdayAs I sit and reflect on the things that has happened in the last few years, I am amazed at what God is doing, has done, and will do in the future.

Five years ago you could not tell me I would be here. It is amazing what can happen when you follow the will of God. You never know how that one thing He tells you to do will jump start something else in your life.

I remember when I though writing a book was too hard. I laugh now because writing is all I want to do. When God first told me to write my story, I thought He was messing with me. At that time, I hadn’t written anything beyond a short story. When He first told me I actually put it off for about two years. One day when I was at the library, one of the librarians that knew me very well asked me directly, “When are you going to write your book?” I didn’t have an answer.

That very same day, my aunt asked me the same exact question, “When are you going to write your book?” At that point I said ok Lord I hear You. Even with that I tried to write as if it wasn’t me and the story did not flow as easy as I felt it should; I got bored with the process so I stopped writing. Another year went by and no story. Then one day in prayer God told me in a big voice like a father with his child, “I said write.” That day I set down and started to write; the rest is a beautiful beginning.

In the last 5 years I have gotten married, started a publishing company, published two books, started this blog, and became managing editor of Wazobia Global Times, an uplifting online newspaper.

I declare a stronger relationship with Him. I declare my family will have a deeper connection. I declare a greater impact on the people God places in my life. I declare I will be exactly where the Lord would have me be. I declare a financial tsunami so great that those around me will be blessed.

I know God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think, so I wait with anticipation for what He will do by this time next year.
