I would really like to walk into my job and tell them I quit. I wish I didn’t have to punch a clock or live on someone else’s time frame. Every time I’m told about a new dress code policy or a new unnecessary process I want to rip my badge off.
You may be feeling the same way. Thinking that you are made for so much more than what you are doing right now. Your regular 9 to 5 lifestyle is not aligning with your spirit. God has a purpose for your life, but at this present moment you are not walking in that purpose.
There is nothing worst then thinking you should be doing one thing, dedicate your life to it, only to find out you were going the wrong direction. Trust me I know. When I was a kid, I was good at summarizing events and expressing myself so that others could understand my point of view. Therefore my teachers and family told me that I should become a lawyer. I wanted to be a writer, but I decided to listen to my elders and pursue a career in law. That was an epic fail.
I had to go back and ask myself these questions.
1. What am I willing to struggle for?
2. What did I love to do as a child and still love to do now as an adult?
3. What issues do I hold close to my heart?
4. What am I naturally good at?
5. What do people typically ask me to help them with?
6. What makes me forget about everything including eating?
Then I went to God and asked Him was I on the right track.
It took some time and some back in forth in my own mind, but I have finally resolved my life to focus on the thing I was created for. My purpose is to inspire, motivate, and educate others on the power of their circumstances. I use my ability to write to let others know that there is purpose in their pain. I would like to travel the globe working with
those that feel there is a way to their personal success, but they just need a little direction. My dream would be to get paid to do what I love. I want to travel to every country in the world trying new things, seeing new places, meeting interesting people.
Now it’s your turn. Ask yourself the above questions, making sure to be as honest with yourself as possible. Now talk to God and see if what you wrote down is meeting up with His will for your life.
When you get the answers it may be the end of a chapter, but don’t be afraid, it’s not the end of the book.
