Recipe for Life

When I was a student at Geraldine Marvell Miller Wright Institute for Women in Ministry (GMMWI) we had a set of classes that we had to take in order to prepare us for the next level. Each class built upon the next, challenging our understanding of the doctrine we learned before. In every one of the five levels we learned what it meant to be prepared for ministry.

In level two we had to give a presentation explaining the knowledge we gathered thus far. I decided to combine my love of food and my love for God in one presentation.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Gather all of your ingredients.
  2. Turn 180 ̊ degrees TOWARD God’s will.
  3. FOLLOW God’s Directions (for every person the directions will be different).
  • In Line

The most important thing about accepting your calling is patience. There is no way you can be effective if you’re out of the will of God. Where ever you are, you are where God needs you. Someone is watching you and even though you don’t know it, you are responsible for them.

  • Effective Communication

What do you do when you don’t have the words to say and the song in your heart has been snatched away? You pray, “Not my will Lord, but Your will be done. Not by my strength Lord, but by Your strength. Holy Spirit, have Your way.”

  • True Sacrifice

In Ministry if no one else is ready, we should be ready to worship the Lord when we walk in the door. What type of ministry do we have if we can’t be on time?

  • Walking with Confidence

Hebrews 11:1 says “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” When we walked into the Institute for the first time we had no idea how much God would stretch us. So we hope to be all that God has called us to and wait for His evidence to be seen.

  • Organic

In everything we do God wants our intentions to be pure; not to get or gain something. Our actions should be done with unconditional love.

  • Selflessness

This walk is about meeting the needs of the people; that soul out there that needs to be saved and introduced to a loving, forgiving, saving Grace.

  • Pure Oil

When nothing else matters, but the anointing on your life, everything looks different.

  • Unspeakable Love   “God is not a man that He should lie…” – Numbers 23:19a

God’s Word is full of His promises and if He said it He will do it.

4. Stir all your ingredients together. Then place them in the fire.

5. Once God says, “You’re done”, come out of the fire.

6. Enjoy the rewards.

Every  moment I spent with those amazing women have prepared me to do what God has called me to do. I may not be standing on the pulpit, but I am definitely in ministry.
