Clean Your Mirror

I’m going to let you in on a secret. We were not meant to carry that weight. We were not told to carry those bags. We were not meant to wake up daily and think about what we did wrong yesterday. The things that happen to us are not meant to stop us; that’s a trick of the enemy. ALL things work together for the good of those that love the Lord. ALL not some, not a little bit, not just part of it, ALL. No matter how unpleasant. No matter how many tears we cried. He knew the pain we were going to have to go through. He is trying to do something in us, and He needed those things to happen so we could be prepared for the next chapter in our lives.

Some of us don’t know why we have low self-esteem. We don’t understand why we have anger issues. We don’t see why we have trust issues. Let us give it to God, that loves us. He wants to take us to that next level, but the bags that we’re carrying are weighing us down. Give it all to Him, every last piece; we’ve carried it too long.

Don’t despise those moments. Don’t be mad at those moments. But don’t keep carrying them around like luggage. Let us take what we need and leave the rest.

We have a tendency to look at ourselves in the mirror and not see where we are but what we have been through. Because if that I have to clean my mirror. I have to remove the stains of what people have said about me. Remove the cloudiness of not feeling like I’m good enough or pretty enough. Remove the cobwebs of things I think I should have done by now. Remove the dust of what I’ve done that I don’t want anyone else to know about. Instead, I must look at myself the way God sees me.

He knows we are all a work in progress.
